Why Clickbank is not available in the Philippines?

I have been looking for answers for this question "Why Clickbank is not available here in the Philippines".

As we all know, Clickbank is the world's largest and trusted source of digital products. A lot of high earning affiliates are promoting digital products because it is very easy, no physical product, no delivery hassles - just a click of the mouse you got what you want. It is believed that digital products are the most and fastest selling products in the internet. Probably because a lot of users are looking for information and help guides.

But sad to say, in the philippines, we are not eligble to join. Why? It is because Philippines is not yet included in the list of countries serviced by Clickbank. To be honest, I really do not know why? Do you have any idea? Please let me know.

Or can we do something like asking clickbank to already include the country in their list? Is it possible? Hopefully.

Networking Your Home Business within Circles of Influence

Copyright © Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy

When you need an auto mechanic or an air conditioning repairman, where do you turn for help? Sure, some people turn to the yellow pages. But most will turn to friends and family and ask if they know of anyone who can do the work.

The best place for your business to be positioned is to be the business on the tips of the tongues of the people asked to make the referral.

THE 300 RULE

Preachers, funeral directors and people in a few other
professions have learned "the 300 rule" through their own
personal experience.

"The 300 rule" states that the average person knows 300 people on a friendly level. Wedding planners tend to make reservations for 300 guests. Funeral directors tend to need to make room for 300 mourners. You get the idea.

DOODLING WITH CIRCLES OF INFLUENCE

Imagine your circle of friends, family and acquaintances, a.k.a. your circle of influence. Now, draw your circle of influence as a circle on a blank piece of paper.

Next, contemplate the people in your parents' circle of
influence. Some people who know your parents also know you. Therefore, you will share some influence with the people your folks know. Now draw your parents' circle of influence on your piece of paper.

Your circle and your parents' circle will intersect in one area,
although the larger majority of the two circles will not
intersect. If you are like most people, the two circles on your page at this point looks very similar to the MasterCard logo.

Now imagine drawing a page full of intersecting circles, each
circle representing the circle of influence of the people who
are within your own circle of influence. Imagine trying to
encapsulate an accurate rendering of where your circle and the circle of your friends will actually intersect.

Some circles will share a large area of space, while others will barely cover one another.

Actually, you can only imagine at this point what your piece of paper will look like. The actual layout of the circles imagined in this analogy is simply too overwhelming for the mind to comprehend.

THE BIG PICTURE

300 multiplied by 300 equals 90,000. By using the analogy of doodles in the previous section, the average person can actually network with up to 90,000 people! Even factoring in the overlap, one can still probably network with 50,000 people through their own circle of influence!

Simply amazing, isn't it?

HERE IS THE SECRET TO YOUR SUCCESS

There are 300 people on this planet whom you have a reasonable amount of influence. Take advantage of this fact. Make darn sure that every person within your own circle of influence KNOWS that you are in business for yourself, and make sure they understand what your business offers.

When your friend is asked to make a referral, they will
recommend you.

PASSIVE VERSUS ACTIVE REFERRAL NETWORKING

When people ask your friends for a referral and your friend
mentions your business, that is passive referral networking.

Active referral networking is when you can get your friends go directly to their friends and say "Hey, I have a friend who just started a business. If you are in need of what he offers or you know someone who will need his services, would you please give my friend a call or make the referral to his business?"

If you can get even a portion of the people in your own circle of influence to actively refer your business, then you have built the foundation to build an advertising campaign even more effective than the average local television advertising campaign.

Think about that for a moment.

Most people only dream of reaching 50,000 potential customers with their television advertising dollars. You now have the knowledge to reach 50,000 people without spending a single penny.

Merry Christmas Everyone

Christmas is here once again. People are very much occupied, buying gifts, holding Christmas parties and other related activities. The spirit of Christmas is indeed very evident by these merry making activities. But for me Christmas is not all parties, giving gifts. Its about spending quality time with your family, friends and loved ones. Its about sharing your blessings to others no matter how small it is.

That's how I think the way Christmas should be celebrated. How about you? How do you spend your Christmas?

Credit Card is very important

A lot of my friends, after knowing that I have started my online business, asked me how did I start? Is it the same as starting my two brick and mortar businesses? My answer is a big NO! With the brick and mortar business, you are most of the time dealing with cash transactions, account on paper and others. But with the online business that I am having right now (you can check at http://www.create-wealth2day.com), a credit card or the plastic card plays a very important role. In fact this was the reason why it took me years to start this business.

Although, I am not generalizing that all online business opportunities need a credit card. There are some opportunities and home based business ideas that do not require a credit card. But if you really want to get serious in starting an online business, a credit card is must.

Is a Home Business Right For You?

Copyright © Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy
http://www.PlugInProfitSite.com/main-19595

Every morning as people wake up and make the commute to work,
many dream of the day when they will finally work for
themselves. Every time the boss lets someone know that they must
give up their weekend plans for the good of the company, people
contemplate the benefits of being the owner of their own
business.

Are you one of these people?

If you are, it is important to ask yourself some very important
questions before you make the uncertain leap into
self-employment.

Many dream of the benefits of home business ownership, but few
take into account the sacrifices that must be made to bring the
dream to fruition. Please don`t make this mistake yourself.

You must approach home business ownership with your eyes wide
open. Ask yourself the important questions, and more
importantly, answer your own questions openly and honestly.

AN IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION

Are you the type of person who relishes every chance to gather
around the water cooler for social interaction?

If so, then home business ownership may not be the right
decision for you.

Instead, if you feel that you can be quite content sitting alone
at your desk; speaking only to clients and really minding your
own home business, then you might have what it takes to succeed
as a home business entrepreneur.

If you feel at ease with your own company and don`t need a dozen
coworkers milling around your desk, then you, too, could savor
the freedoms that will allow you and your family, to live the
lifestyle you know you want and deserve.

THE KEY TO HOME BUSINESS SUCCESS

Self-motivation is the key to success when you start a
home-based business. You need to possess the ability to push
yourself ahead. Your drive and determination will be reinforced
with every new sale.

The level of success that you will achieve greatly depends on
the time and effort you are willing to plow into your new home
business. Your organization, planning and marketing skills, will
all be put into practice when you embark on your liberating
journey from employee, to being your own boss. In fact, you will
be the wearer of many hats and gain a wealth of business
experience along the way, when you finally make that commitment
to work at home.

YOUR SUCCESS RESTS ENTIRELY UPON YOUR OWN SHOULDERS

You will now be the boss. Are you truly able to work
independently? Do you have the drive; the tenacity, to persevere
with your home based business? Will you be able to invest the
necessary time to nurture it, to watch it grow and see it
through, from germination to full, glorious bloom? When you`re
the boss, you are responsible for the success of your home
business, from A to Z, from disappointments to victory.

When you work at home, it will empower you to achieve many
things you were unable to do when you were stuck working for
that tyrant boss. Remember him? He`s the guy that wouldn`t let
you take time off when your baby was sick...the same guy that
called you in to work on Thanksgiving Day.

A home business means that you can take good care of your family
and make money from home, simultaneously. You will have the best
of both worlds! Just think--no more dirty laundry piling up--you
can do it while you work. No more scurrying around at the last
minute searching for a babysitter either. And no more worrying
about getting fired; you`ll be the boss!

IN CONCLUSION...

Stay positive and focused on your home based business, even if,
when sales aren`t up to par, you get occasional negative remarks
or derogatory comments from people with stuffy, dead-end jobs.
Ignore their cutting words and bear in mind that success is the
best revenge! Keep your admirable, positive attitude at the
forefront and show them what you`re made of!

How to Rank High on Google

To rank high on Google, your website has to be measured by “500 million variables and 2 billion terms” of Google’s equation, as stated on Google’s Corporate Information Technology Overview page. Google’s ranking system is based on a democracy, and the citizens are the links on the worldwide web that vote for each other. Not unlike our government today, many of these “links” are paid for, and some are of greater value. Ranking high on Google is playing politics.
Links and Keywords are the key players in the ranking game.

Google also takes into consideration the full content of the page including HTML codes, fonts, subdivisions and the “precise location of each word.” Links are votes. You must develop a link strategy. Google likes linking things together. Create a rich network of links with distinct quality content. Your website must have quality links going out and coming in. Quality is the key word. Links from reputable pages (which ironically includes .gov pages) are given more weight than links on “link farm” pages. Linking to a “link farm” is one of the worst things you can do and can potentially get your deported off the web. The better the links, the better your ranking. Google will factor in your page content and the content of the pages you link to. Do your research. Google has a free page rank tool on their toolbar. Use it to find out the page ranking and visit the site.Google also gives more weight to one-way links that lead to your site, and less weight to reciprocal links. How do you get these? Buy them. List yourself in a reputable directory listing. Make sure you are listed in the Open Directory Project (DMOZ.org). If you can’t buy links, write good content. Give someone a reason to link to your site. Again, the keyword is Quality. Submitting articles and press releases are also strategies in the linking game.

Keywords are your platform. They are what you stand for. Words count. Graphics don’t. Make sure your words are not in graphic form and make sure you have relevant titles under your graphics. Start with your title tag. Put everything you stand for in ten words or less. Make your URLs short and keyword specific. Brand yourself. If you type in soda, Mountain Dew will not show up on the first page. If you type in Mountain Dew, it will be on the first page. Brand yourself so users know what they are searching for. Do not put the same words in every heading and every tag. Be descriptive. Sell yourself. There are multitudes of free keyword rank and suggestion tools. Use them as a supplement to your knowledge of your company.Think of every element in your website as words and pages in a presentation that is going to be up for a vote. Does everything fit? Is it all related? Are you a reputable company with a quality product? Does it sell? Now sell it. Google is waiting for you.

Spread your Web Site

It's not enough to just create and make your site online. This process is just a beginning. The real work starts after launching your site. How do you bring traffic to your site? How to bring people to visit your site? Not just people to visit your site but constant stream of visitors. This is a very difficult task to do. Some believe that this is the missing ingredient for online success.

One of the methods to market your site that will eventually bring traffics is to submit your site search engines. If you want anyone to see your site, it needs to be indexed by the search engines. And to get indexed, you need to submit your site to these search engines. It sounds to be very easy to do. Yes, for the top search engines. But it would be very tedious if you want to submit your site to thousands of search engines worldwide. So you have to find some ways to do this easily.

The next thing to do is Pay Per Click advertising. This is the easiest and the fastest way to bring traffics. However, this must be used very carefully because this can make or break your online biz.

Joining forums is also a good way to start spreading your presence for free. So join forums now.

The Right Product Sells Itself

In his book dotcomology, Evans believes that customers are his goods. When you join an affiliate program, you buy traffic from other sites and pass them onto your partners for a profit. In his book you’ll learn all about affiliate programs. He’ll show you how to build them, how to select your partners and how to turn your traffic into cash. But traffic is just one kind of product on the web. Information products are some of the greatest money-makers currently churning up dollars on the Net. And anyone can create an information product.

Imagine you know how to build a bookcase from scratch. That already makes you a lot more knowledgeable. Maybe one person in a thousand will want to know how to build the kind of bookcase you know how to build. If you’re not a well-known carpenter, no publishing company is going to touch you. It’s just not worth the effort.

On the Internet, one person in a thousand gives you a potential market of approximately 340,000 customers (and that number is growing all the time). If you write a book and sell it online for just $10 per copy you could make as much as $3,400,000. All you have to do is tell people what you know and tell them it’s out there. And that costs next to nothing. Information sells like crazy online. In fact, I sell a $47 e-book all day long. The profits from that single e-book could provide a comfortable living for me and my family all by itself. But who wants to stop at one profit stream when you can create multiple streams of automated income on the Internet? Not him. The system he used to earn multiple streams of income on the Internet.

To learn more about this, visit: http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/main-19595

The Internet — Your Business Tool

Stone Evan’s system for making money online is built on three foundations: the Internet, marketing and the product.

In this book, we are going to look closely at each one of those. In particular, we’ll spend a lot of time talking about marketing because that is really how you make money online.

Let’s begin by taking a quick glance at why the Internet is the greatest business opportunity since the railroad. The Internet actually started in 1969 as the ARPANET, a Defense Department system designed to let survivors share files after a nuclear attack. From a handful of top secret computers, it’s grown to fill more than 10 million hosts and millions of domain names. And it’s still growing. According to a recent survey, the volume of Internet traffic is expected to double annually over the next five years.

Consumers are expected to account for 60 percent of all Internet traffic over that period with the rest of the market made up of business users. What does that mean for you? It means customers — millions of them. No other business tool can put the products you sell to so many people so easily. Nothing even comes close. We’re talking about a potential market of hundreds of millions of people around the world who can buy your products 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you opened a store in your city, how many people would walk past your window each month? If you live in Manhattan, maybe a few thousand. If you live in Los Olivos, California, maybe a few hundred. On the Internet, there’s virtually no limit to the number of people you can bring through your store front wherever you live. That’s the power of the Internet. That’s why my online business is bringing in thousands of dollars every day. I attract a lot of customers
for my service and I sell a lot of goods.

Do you have what it takes to be an e-entrepreneur?

This is an excerpt from the book Dotcomology, the science of making money online.

Before you even turn on your computer, the first question you have to ask yourself is whether you’re cut out for this kind of work. The fact is, building a home-based business isn’t for everyone. Some people like the commute. They really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what to do, and they like the routine of working nineto-five for an ordinary salary that can barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think they’re nuts. More reasonably, there are people who are concerned about the risk of starting up their own business. They’re not sure it’s worth the investment of time and money, and they’re scared of the responsibility that comes with running their own company. They wonder if there is another way to escape the rat race.
I’m sure there is. You could win the lottery or wait for your Aunt Sue to keel over and leave you her condo. Or maybe you could sit down with a pen and paper and draw the blueprint for The Next Big Thing. Anything can happen…

For me, what happened was creating a successful, self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t happen without effort. It didn’t happen without at least some initial investment of both time and money. Of course, it doesn’t happen now without me making sure that the taxes are filed and the paperwork is done. But it happened. I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my business makes. If you’re prepared to give an e-business the time, the work and the money it needs to get started and get growing, it can happen for you too.

Proper way to exchange calling card

I have mentioned in my earlier post that a calling card is one of the most important tools to help propel the growth of your business or your profession. Its purpose is not only to quickly convey your personal information. It creates the first impression on what you are going to offer to your prospective client. But the most basic and perhaps a very simple question is: What is the proper way of giving and receiving calling cards. There are a lot of variations to give and receive a calling card. Some people have been confused on how to give and receive calling cards or business cards. Well, I have done the research for you. So read on.

Christopher J. Brunner, author of the article "Exchanging Business Cards: Do's and Dont's of Business Introductions", published in Great FX Business Cards website has this to say: Exchanging business cards can be a smooth transaction, or it could be an awkward situation. Use this guide to plan ahead so that you are ready when someone asks for your business card. With the following guides as suggested by Brunner, I am sure you can exchange your calling cards as smoothly as possible.

Do be prepared Always. Have a handful with you to present to potential clients or other business associates, even on the weekends. You'll find that many important contacts and business card exchanges can take place in the most unlikely places.

Don't hand out torn or worn business cards. Make sure they are clean and crisp with no frayed edges or pen marks. The best method of keeping your cards in neat form is a business card case. With designs ranging from techie to artsy to formal, you are bound to find one that fits your style and personality.

Do make it a point to hand out business cards. It doesn't take a large convention to bring customers and business owners together. Informal meetings are one of the best times to network and exchange business cards. If the person you are speaking with seems interested in your product or service you represent, offer that person a business card.

Do receive a business card properly. When accepting a business card, have a good look at it for a few seconds. In your conversation, offer a compliment about the logo, design, etc.

Don't hand out more than one card to a new contact. Only give one business card to your new contact. Leaving two or three may give the signal that you want them to make contacts for you which is tacky and unprofessional. Unless a prior agreement is made to exchange more than one card, keep the focus on person-to-person contact.

Do exchange business cards smoothly. When you first meet someone, it's ok to request a business card from them. However, If the person is of a higher position than yourself, you should wait for them to offer their card to you first. Remember if they want you to have a card, they will give you one!

Don't place it in a bag, pocket or wallet. Place the card you receive in a planner, notebook or business card case. Never place the card in a wallet that will be put in your back pocket. Doing so shows disrespect and an all around lack of organization on your part.

So I hope the above suggestions can greaty help you and your business to go an extra mile.

Time To Have Your Own Calling Card

Calling card or business card has become a very important partner to not only the businessperson but equally important for everyone. A calling card bears the most important information of a company or an individual. It contains the name, address, contact numbers, email address, and website if any.

During a business meeting or even just during simple gatherings, calling cards are usually given to formally introduce oneself and or to memory aid. I usually prepare my calling cards for my clients and prospective customers in order for them to remember our discussions and to contact me later on when they need my service. I can start talking about my business after giving my calling card. Calling cards has really helped my business.

Since calling cards are important, it needs to be professionaly designed and the materials should be of high quality. A simple design and the use of cool colors will definitely stand out and will definitely deliver your expectations. If you don't know how to make, design your card, you may contact a local print shop to design your calling card that will fit you needs. The most common size of calling cards is 3.5 inches by 2 inches. So you can start from here. Remember, only the most important informations are placed on the calling card. The more information, the more the calling card becomes crowded.

Therefore, make you calling card as simple as possible yet elegant.

Got my new continuous ink system printer

Continuous ink system(CIS) is gaining momentum in taking a considerable market share in the printing industry. I decided to get one because small printers like me could no longer afford to repurchase the inks and besides your clients are shifting to other stores which are offering very low printing cost. I have no other choice but to really get one.

What is a CIS and how does it work? Wikipedia defines a Continuous Ink System (CIS) or Continuous Flow System (CFS), also known as bulk feed, is a cost-effective replacement for ink-jet printer cartridges. In contrast to conventional cartridges, a CIS/CFS uses very large (about 100ml/color) ink tanks, which are connected with tubes to the printhead nozzles. The tanks can be conveniently refilled from an ink bottle - there is no need for syringes.

Two days ago, Kratz, a dealer of continuous ink system in the city approached and somehow convinced me to change my 4 months old epson c59 printer. At first, I was hesitant to give in because I heard from some friends who have purchased that the warranty of the printer becomes void once it is converted to CIS. I thought for a while that the CIS is only ideal for printers of which the warranty has already lapsed. But then Kratz offered a very incredible deal. He is going to swap my 4 months old epson c59 printer, replace it with a brand new brother dcp130C already converted to CIS. So, from an origina price of PhP8,000, I will only pay 4,ooo pesos. Plus, payable after one month! Is'nt it a very good deal!

Right now, I am charging 2.50 pesos per page for black and white and for some colored texts and small colored graphics which before I am charging 5 pesos (50% savings). For a full page picture and graphics (for short and long bondpaper only), I am charging 5.00pesos, from an original cost of 25pesos per page. Big savings for me and my clients.

Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao Rules

The Filipino champ, Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao once again proved to the Filipino people and to the world that he's indeed the people champ of the Philippines. Pacman fought a controlled but aggresive fight against Marco Antonio Barrera of Mexico and won handedly by unanimous decision. The judges scored in favor of Manny on average 117-114.

On round 11, Pacman almost brought Barrera to floor. But the Mexican boxer managed to stand. While referee Tony Meeks was breaking the clinch, Barrera struck a strong punch hitting Pacquiao in the head making Manny for a moment to shudder. Barrera was deducted by a point.

At the 12th and final round, Barrera tried to counter the quick attacks of Pacman but still he could not offset Pacman's combinations and speed. This loss of Barerra was considered by him as his last fight when he announced that he is retiring from boxing.

Manny, the filipinos are indeed very proud of you. You have once again joined every filipino in the world! Kudos to you, the People Champ!

Damn Desperate Housewives!

The damage has been done. The whole world has seen it. What else can be done?

Recent reports tell that the ABC television network has already deleted a segment maligning Filipino health professionals. This is the scene, Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher), tells her doctor: “OK, before we go any further, can I check those diplomas? Because I would just like to make sure they are not from some med school in the Philippines.” What does she know about med school in the Philippines? What's the basis of their script?

This is not an issue about some med schools in the country. This is not issue only affecting the medical professionals. This is an issue that insulted every filipino. And more, an issue that degrades our educational system.

Although the network has already issued an apology. It's not ENOUGH! The following is the ABC's statement: "The producers of ‘Desperate Housewives’ and ABC Studios offer our sincere apologies for any offense caused by the brief reference in the season premiere. There was no intent to disparage the integrity of any aspect of the medical community in the Philippines. As leaders in broadcast diversity, we are committed to presenting sensitive and respectful images of all communities featured in our programs." Was that done with utmost sensitivity? Was that done with high respect of the communities they have featured in their programs? I don't think so!

I always believe our nurses and doctors are highly topnotch. This is very evident by the high demand of filipino medical professionals around the world. So the statement is baseless, unfair, irresponsible, and insensitive! Damn Desperate Housewives!

Its nice to hear comments from you!

Lately, comments have been posted in this blog. Its really nice to hear comments from you. This is an indication that there are some who are really reading blogs. I want to share it some comments. Here it goes:

On black out day in Dumaguete. A certain Rodelyn said, Yes! you're certainly right...people who are engaged in business will definitely have a low income for days like that. Most especially those dealing with electricity in their businesses will have a hard time gaining such amount of revenues they got when there is electricity. As in my part as a student, its really hard for me when brown out occur, i really can't study my lesson for the next day especially when there is exam...and it causes many inconvenience and many people are affected...

Jezreel on the other hand shared how the frequent loss of power affected her as a student. She said, I am also affected when there is a brownout, especially if it would take a whole day for the brownout to occur. I cannot concentrate on my studies because w/o the electric fan it is so hot in our bhaus. It is so sad to know that the source of electricity is located near dumaguete. Yet, were experiencing brownouts. Surely businesses who rely on the electricity would be very affected. Hopefully that these brownouts would not worsen because many people would be affected.

Franz shared the same sintement. He said, not only the business people are suffering from these blackouts, alsothe workaholic (ehem) studes like me...there are large and overwhelming assignmentssss and projectssssuch as this to work for,, & without having this electric current at hand especially in times of examinations we willprobably, exactly rather fail the exam we are facing.I have a friend who has complained about it (blackout which came along prior to her exam), she said she has to cram the next day because she was not fully equipped to take the exam because of the blackout...The pipzz who are held responsible to these occurrences should take necessary actions for the benefit of the Dumagueteńos =)

On business plan... I truely believe that the business plan is the blueprint of the business. It is your basis on planning your goals, where will you get your capital and other plans on how you can gain profit or how you can expand your business. Organizing is also important in the business through proper management. Proper leading of the employees is also necessary. And lastly is the proper control of the business. Is it easy for you sir to manage your own business.?

How about you? It's your time to share your thoughts!

Is Adwords for you?

Adwords is Google's way of earning source of revenue. AdWords offers pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, and site-targeted advertising for both text and banner ads. It includes 5 lines consisting of the following: headline, 2 lines for the description of the headline, the url, and destination url.

Pay-Per-Click advertisements (PPC)
Advertisers specify the words that should trigger their ads and the maximum amount they are willing to pay per click. When a user searches Google's search engine on www.google.com, ads for relevant words are shown as "sponsored links" on the right side of the screen, and sometimes above the main search results.

The ordering of the paid listings depends on other advertisers' bids (pay for placement P4P) and the "quality score" of all ads shown for a given search. The quality score is calculated by historical click-through rates and the relevance of an advertiser's ad text, keyword, and landing page to the search, as determined by Google. The quality score is also used by Google to set the minimum bids for an advertiser's keywords.

The auction mechanism that determines the order of the ads has been called a "generalized second price" auction. It is a variation of the Vickrey auction.

Site targeted advertisements
In 2003 Google introduced site-targeted advertising. Using the AdWords control panel, advertisers can enter keywords of interest, and Google offers to place ads on what they claim are relevant sites within their content network. Advertisers then bid on a cost per mille (CPM) basis for placement. Advertisers can also enter domains directly. Google will provide a list of related sites that you can select along with your entered site.

Site targeting campaigns are mainly designed for branding purposes, as the ROI will almost always be considerably lower than a traditional content-targeted campaign. Your ad will take up the entire ad block (as opposed to being 1 of 4 ads in a traditional AdSense ad unit), which will make it more prominent but cost quite a bit more.

The minimum CPM you can set on a Site-Targeted campaign is 25 cents.

The Google adwords has tools for you to manage your campaign. You also have the freehand to control your budget per bid and per day. So, if you want to bring more traffic to your site and eventually convert this traffic to more sales, try google adwords and make sure to consider your advertising budget.

It's blackout day in Dumaguete

Today is another bad business day for the business people of Dumaguete. The city is experiencing a whole day out of electricity! Again! I say again because this is always happening here. What is ironic about the usual out of electricity is that, Dumaguete is situated in a province where the source of electricity is located. The Southern Negros Geothermal Production Field (SNGPF) is located in Palinpinon Valencia, Negros Oriental just a few kilometers away from Dumaguete. This production field is also supplying electricity to nearby provinces like Negros Occidental, Cebu, and Panay Island. But how come these provinces are not experiencing a whole day brownout? It's only here!

Businesses here are the one greatly suffering. Consider this: an internet cafe which is very popular in the city (you can see internet cafes almost every corner of the city) is losing an approximate revenue of 1,200 pesos with minimum number of 10 computer units, a retail shops without standby generator are also out of business today! I, myself, is also affected. I cannot access my online accounts. I cannot post updates to my blog. What more? Everyone is indeed affected.

I just hope that the people concern will do something to the worsening delivery of electricity in the province and in the city where the source is located.

Starting An Online Business From Home

by: J. Elisha Burke

Many people believe that starting an online business from home is difficult. In fact it is quite easy. If you are already familiar with what product you will sell you will need to create or hire someone to produce an online website for you. This website should list the product or products you have available. If you will be selling your own products, make sure that your online business has a name that reflects you and what you offer.

After this has been completed, you should inquire in your local state to learn the guidelines necessary for you to run a business from your home. Many states require that even an online business register with them and receive a business license. You will have to get the necessary forms to request this license.

After you have obtained you license, you should also find out how running an online business from home will affect you tax situation. You would still need to report any income you make from your business, even if you are working at home.

After all this paperwork is completed for you business, it is important to set up your home office for you new job. It is suggested that you have a separate space to conduct your business affairs. A separate phone line that customers can call is also very necessary and I strongly suggest you get a fax machine. You will lose customers if you are not able to be reached by telephone, fax and e-mail. Having a separate phone line from the rest of the house is essential!

Other than a second phone line, it is also a good idea to buy the necessary hardware and software for you home office. You will save lots of money if you have your own fax machine, scanner, and printer. Also it is probably wise to have the latest software additions for word processing and accounting. The accounting software is especially useful for you to keep track of all expenses and revenue for your online business.

When you have established the business and things are going well, it is a good idea to consider outsourcing. This would mean hiring someone to take care of the little jobs that you would have to do such as email or letter correspondence or creating marketing brochures. By doing this, you will be able to focus on the more important areas of making money and marketing your business, which will be key to your success.

Is Business Plan Necessary?

Are you planning to open a new business? Or are you considering expanding your current business ? Or do you need an additional capital? Where do you intend to get the capital, from a bank loan or investors from other people?

Most likely if you are considering for a bank loan, a business plan is necessary. The financial institution is very careful whether you can sustain the business or not. They are also more concern if you can pay back the amount you owed to them plus interest. Other investors will do the same. They will want to see your projected income as well as your suggested repayment plan already laid out. Taking the time to do this is not only important for them, but it gives you a measuring tool to verify if your business is growing properly. You can gage your success on how close to the plan your business has actually performed. Perhaps you'll do worse, or perhaps you'll do better, either way it helps you determine how well your business is getting on. Hence, a business plan is very much needed.

A business plan is a blueprint of your business. It serves as a daily guide. It functions as your personal and intimate advisor. Creating a business plan enables you to see possible obstacles to your business and prepares you to find solutions that will help you overcome them. If you have never seen a business plan nor tried to prepare one, you may be concerned that it is too difficult to create one. However, with the advent of technology most particularly the internt, a lot of free resources are already available even some for FREE. Or you can always hire someone to prepare a business plan. However, I would advice to prepare it on your own simply because it is your business and perhaps just hire some experts to fine tune the process.

There's a free tool at www.bdc.ca which will assist you in creating a business plan. Some of the topics you will be required to explain are your Market, Customer, Competition, Marketing Plan, Research & Development along with financial forecasts.

Your Business Plan will become your guide and silent business partner - indicating where you need to improve and helping you stay one step ahead of your competition. Make it a priority to have this crucial road map for your business.

Pylon launches First Interactive Yearbook

The Pylon, the official yearbook of the Negros Oriental State University System brings the yearbook to the next level by launching the first interactive yearbook yesterday at the Audio Visual Room.

Every year the university is producing a yearbook for the graduating students as a means to relive the memories/experiences during their stay at the university. Since the yearbook was produced more than twenty years ago, changes have been made to meet the expectations of every batch. From an all black and white yearbook to a full color yearbook in 2000. Last year, the pylon made a history by releasing the first yearbook before graduation. This year, the pylon staff is committed to bring the yearbook to the next level. The interactive yearbook.

An interactive yearbook does not replace the traditional yearbook or the printed yearbook. It serves as a supplement integrated with audio, video, graphics. One thing that makes the interactive yearbook very special is that, it is created and developed by the pylon staff. The talents and skills of the staff are utilized. So we can say, it is truly NORSU made!

Kudos to the pylon staff for this innovative project!

FERN-C My Vitamin C

I have been taking different kinds of vitamin C before to combat stress, cough and colds. But right now, I have discovered this vitamin c that is tummy friendly, non-acidic, and has lots of benefits. I am talking about FERN-C. So read on to know more about this vitamin C.

YOUR BEST PROTECTION AGAINST INFECTIOUS DISEASES LIKE BIRD FLU & DENGUE. HELPS FIGHT DAMAGING EFFECTS OF FREE RADICALS & CANCER

VITAMIN C is a water soluble antioxidant that is essential for life and for maintaining optimal health. It is required for at least 300 metabolic functions in the body. There are very few, if any, biological functions that do not require Vitamin C. Vitamin C plays a vital role in keeping the immune system working efficiently and helps build collagen, the stabilizing tissue in the bone, muscle and skin. As an antioxidant, Vitamin C is one of our best defenses against the celldamaging effects of free radicals. Almost all animals and plants produce their own Vitamin C. There are some exceptions, such as humans and a small number of other animals. Since the body cannot manufacture Vitamin C, it must be obtained through diet in the form of supplements. The non-acidic Vitamin C is a remarkably effective form, especially for those suffering from chronic illnesses such as cancer. This type of Vitamin C enters the body four times faster than standard acidic forms and stays in the body tissues longer.

Fern-C is Vitamin C in Sodium Ascorbate form. It is NONACIDIC (alkaline), With a pH range of 7.5 to 7.8. You can take as much FERN-C as you want without the negative effects of highly acidic Vitamin C tablets, like gastric irritation, bloating, and intestinal irritation,. Since FERN-C is safe, it was further classified by BFAD as an OTC (over-the-counter) product (no need for prescription). Vitamin C per Philippine Generics Law is known as Ascorbic Acid.

So what makes Fern-C different from other leading vitamic C in the market?
Fern-C
• Alkaline-based• pH range of 7.5 to 7.8• Natural Vitamin C• Can be taken as much as 10,000-20,000 mg. a day; safe and effective. The higher the dosage the better.• In crystallized powder to preserve effectivity and pureness.• Dissolves quickly and is absorbed by the body 5 to 8 times faster than standard acidic Vitamin C tablets.• Can be taken either before or after meals; non-acidic,tummy-friendly.• Body’s absorption is up to 95%; only 5% is being flushed out.• Can be taken by persons with ulcer and diabetes.

Acidic Vitamin C
• Acid-based• pH range of 2.5 to 3• Standard Vitamin C maximum dosage is only 1,000 mg. a day; with more than 1,000 mg., body can not tolerate acidity.• Normally in tablet form with starch ingredient. Thus, not 100% pure and natural,.• Dissolves slowly.• Should be taken after meals to prevent hyper-acidity.• Body’s absorption is only 15-25%; 75-85% is flushed out through urination, bowel movement and perspiration.• Not advisable for persons with ulcer and diabetes (occasionally).

So, do you think it's now high time to change your vitamin C? Now is the right time. Take Fern-C!

Don't Waste Your Time - Use it Wisely

by: Andrew Grant

Do you waste time? Are you lazy and indolent or are you continuously on the go, using every minute to the maximum?

If you are in the first category, there are a lot of very obvious things you can do to improve, but in this article I want to concentrate on those of us who are already using our time constructively and examine how you can squeeze even more from your day.

You may think that your life is so full that this is impossible, but I recently ran an inventory of how I used my time and realised that there was still some room for improvement. Here's what I discovered.

Timespace #1 – For years I avoided doing any kind of exercise. It was pretty easy for me, I had been skinny all my life and even though I wasn't too fit, I was still the right weight. As I got older, though I realised that I had to take my body a bit more seriously. Since then I have become a moderate, regular exerciser; I now go running for half an hour every second day and visit the gym three times a week. No problem there; I get satisfaction from using my time well and I appreciate the results. However, I calculated that I am spending about five hours per week doing great things for my body, but nothing for my mind. So now when I'm pounding the streets or straining at the weights, I use the opportunity to listen to self development programs on my I-Pod, to concentrate on goal visualization, to practice affirmations or just focus on being grateful for all the good things in my life. And there's a bonus too; because the blood is racing through my veins, my brain is more alert and better prepared to learn and grow.

Timespace #2 – I drive a lot. My business requires a good deal of travel and most of it is done in the car. I used to listen to music on the radio or go into an almost trance-like ‘auto pilot' mode, usually to escape the tedium of long distance driving. Now, though, I put a self development CD in the player, or a language course, or again, I use the time to practice visualizations and affirmations. The privacy of your little tin box allows you to shout, sing, laugh or mumble. Who cares? You are on your own. It's your space.

Timespace #3 – Finally, this one is not so much about finding extra time as making better use of the time I thought I was using wisely. My personal time audit showed me that I was wasting a whole hour, sometimes more, at the beginning of the day catching up on the overnight e-mail load and then planning what I was going to do for the rest of the day.

I prided myself on being an efficient time warrior, but I now realise, that I was missing one of the biggest mistakes of all.

So how did I fix that? Simple. I changed two things. Firstly, I now do my planning, the night before, by taking ten minutes, near to the end of the evening and writing down everything I want to achieve the next day. The bonus here is that overnight, my mind works on the issues even while I sleep, so by the time I get started next day, I am far better prepared.

Secondly, I leave my e-mail inbox until lunchtime. I spend the morning getting through the goals I assigned the night before and then just before I take a break for lunch, I race through my inbox. That way, I find I already feel good about what I've done so far in the day, my mind is much more focused and I don't get distracted.

So no matter how efficient you think you are, take a look again at your day and I'll bet you can find some extra layers of time, you never knew you had. Good hunting.

Acidity verses Alkalinity

by: Glenn Antoine

While I originally started to avoid this subject like the plague, I felt the need to at a minimum address it because there are so many widely differing view points on what this actually means, what to do about it and how this really affects your overall health.

I was very happy to find that the Chief Science Officer at Univera LifeSciences, Steven Cherniske, had published a very informative article, “The Acid Alkaline Mystery Solved”, on this very subject. For any of you that have read any of Stephen Cherniske’s work, you will not be surprised to see that it comes complete with all the references that you could hope for and the straight hard facts on this very confusing subject. As a result of this finding I am not going to attempt to do the subject justice, by trying to recreate an article of equal caliber. Verses re-inventing the wheel I am going to simply hit some of the high points for those of you who would prefer the cliff notes version. For those that would like to read all of the details I will leave that to Stephen and his article, “The Acid Alkaline Mystery Solved”.

First of all what is an Acid or for that matter an Alkaline substance? These substances are measured on a pH scale with water being neutral at 7.0. With values less than 7.0 being acid and the lower the pH value the stronger the acid. As you may have guessed alkaline (or base) substances have a value greater than 7.0 up to a maximum of 14. By now you may be wondering where our bodies should fall on this scale. First of all when we speak of an acid/alkaline balance in the body we are talking about the pH balance of our blood and tissues that should remain in a fairly narrow range of about 7.4 – slightly alkaline.

The real heart of the matter here is the byproducts of the digestion of foods that we consume and absorb. The biggest contributors to the fact that ACIDOSIS is at an all time high are the facts that most Americans are consuming beef and/or poultry multiple times per day, Americans are now consuming more soft drinks than water, consumption of coffee (caffeinated & decaffeinated) and lastly the processing of many of our foods have removed all of the alkaline forming minerals. When thinking about the foods that we consume you can not take the natural state of a food as the prime indicator of how that food will interact with our bodies. As an example, most fruits when consumed will result in an alkaline ash residue once digested even though naturally they maybe very high in acid in their natural state, even oranges.

The primary acid forming foods in your diet contain the minerals, sulfur, phosphorus and iron. Typically you will find these minerals in proteins, such as meat, fish, poultry, eggs, grains, most nuts and soft drinks (due to the high phosphate levels). The minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium and sodium form alkaline reactions in the body and are found primarily in fruits and vegetables, and so these foods are classified as alkaline forming foods. As many of you are aware the consumption of alkaline-forming vegetables and fruit is at an all-time low. This has resulted in an increase of acidosis which accelerates catabolic damage and impairs our bodies anabolic repair processes. One of the best examples is the fact that it has been known for a long time that diets high in protein greatly increase the risk of osteoporosis. While there are many theories on this subject it appears that the body is simply taking from one part of the body to help support other systems that have been depleted due to the body staying in such a high state of acidosis.

In an attempt to help us make this shift in our diet Univera LifeSciences has created MetaGreens™. MetaGreens™ is extraordinary mix of land and sea vegetables, all of which are rich in alkaline minerals. I take great comfort in knowing that these greens are pesticide-free, grown on high-nutrient soil that has never been chemically fertilized. Additionally, Univera LifeSciences takes great care to ensure that the vegetables are harvested at the peak of their nutrient value and then these ingredients are processed by low-temperature dehydration to retain all the raw food goodness and manufactured in small batches to maximize freshness.

While the words “stomach acid” have a negative connotations for many of you it is because you have been brain washed over the years by the non-stop advertisements about how excess stomach acid is causing all of your discomforts. While I would be able to spend days address this issue I will pass. For those of you that want to read a very well presented explanation of why our stomach acids are in fact a good thing please read Stephen Cherniske’s article. For myself I continue to rely on Univera LifeSciences Aloe Gold product to help keep my digestive track in order and functioning properly. For those of you that have not tried Aloe Gold take a moment to ask anyone that have used the product and I am very certain you will hear fantastic praises about how it has helped them with numerous digestive track disorders.

I hope that you have found this latest entry to be of interest and most of informative. While I have barely scratched the surface here I hope that I have helped to clear up some of the confusion associated with the Acid Alkaline debate. For those of you that are hungry for more on this I can not recommend highly enough that you read Stephen Cherniske’s article the Acid Alkaline Mystery Solved.

Ma'am Francie has a new N95

The department chair of the Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) of Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) has just acquired a brand new N95 cellphone. I have been thinking of buying this unit before but instead I was just able to buy the N73 because I can't afford to buy it. The cost is still very high- PhP28,000.00 plus.

N95 has this features: 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Bulit-in GPS mapping, DVD-like quality footage , View emails with attachment. Its operating frequency is something can be boost of: EGSM 900 MHz , GSM 850 / 1800 / 1900 MHz , WCDMA 2100 MHz , and
Automatic switching between bands and modes. Wow it's really amazing gadget!
And look at its dimensions: Volume: 90 cc , Weight: 120 g , Length: 99 mm , Width: 53 mm ,
Thickness (max): 21 mm . It's like you are carrying a piece of paper. huh!

I know there are still a lot of exciting features of N95. And I definitely know Ma'am Francie is exploring it.
